Directions and Map The Cottonwood Inn, while only 10 minutes from the plaza, features a pastoral setting and sweeping mountain and meadow vistas. Joggers and walkers will especially enjoy the 360 degree views from a 2 mile long dirt track just outside our front gate.
Our location is ideal for all types of outdoor recreation as well as visiting the many excellent museums and galleries in Taos proper. Skiers, hikers, rock climbers, bicyclists, white water enthusiasts and anglers will find easy access to the many outdoor resources for which Taos is noted. Art and history lovers have only a short drive to the many great museums and galleries of the area. Of course there is shopping too. And, though we are convenient to town, we are just far enough away from the bright lights that star gazers will revel in the heavenly scene which can be taken in from our outdoor hot tub or from you own private deck.
For dining, three of Taos' finest restaurants are within a two minute drive of the Inn. And, all of Taos' other great dining establishments are only a short drive away. (When you make your room reservation, be sure to request that Shantal and Brantly e-mail you their "Innsiders' Gourmet Guide to Taos").
The Inn is conveniently located for the photographer, artist or sightseer who will find great interest in the old adobe churches and Penetente moradas of the nearby historic villages of Arroyo Seco, Valdez and Arroyo Hondo. A short auto or bicycle tour from the Inn through these villages will also provide you with an insight into the Spanish colonization of the Southwest and a glimpse of what all of Taos used to be. At the same time, one nearby village offers interesting art galleries, "Taos Cow" ice cream and several casual dining spots.
If you need a rental car to get to Taos, you can reserve your Enterprise Rent-A-Car online at www.enterprise.com, or call 575-737-0514 and just give the following code number for our special reduced rate: 3402416. When booking online you will also need our 3 letter PIN: TAO

Directions We are located on State Route 230 between Taos and the Taos Ski Valley. From the center of Taos, proceed north on the main drag (Paseo del Pueblo Norte), don't turn. The main road will bear to the left at the Allsup's gas station (going straight will take you to the Taos Pueblo). From the center of Taos it is about 4 miles north on Paseo del Pueblo Norte to a major signalized intersection (there will be a Conoco station on your left just before the intersection). Turn right at the intersection onto State Route 150 (also called the Taos Ski Valley Road). Go EXACTLY 2 ½ miles up Route 150 toward the mountains, at which point you will turn left onto State Route 230 and then an IMMEDIATE LEFT into our driveway.
